About Don Norman
Donald A. Norman is Professor of Computer Science at Northwestern University, a former "Apple Fellow," and a partner in the Nielsen Norman Group Consulting Firm, which consults with corporations on design. He is the author of a number of books on design, including Emotional Design and the best-selling The Design of Everyday Things. He lives in Northbrook, Illinois and Palo Alto, California.

The book is a bit old now - when this was written computers hadn't really taken hold in the home and workplace and hypertext was just about to be introduced. Nonetheless, full of fantastic theories, ideas and techniques that are still very relevant today and some of the bad design of the future that Norman predicted has actually happened - so to follow his advice, send flowers to those who practice good design, and send weeds to those who don't.show moreby Nathanael Coyne
