Seven short weeks. Ambitious demon Belial has just seven weeks to stack up a victory for Hell and earn his promotion to Chief Executive Demon, second only to Satan himself. If Belial can corrupt God's champion within the agreed time-frame, Hell will score bragging rights--and another soul. The demon always wins, but this deck may be stacked against him...

Seven long weeks. Although she doesn't know it yet, widowed nurse Dara Strong is the ace up God's sleeve. The granddaughter of demon-fighting missionaries, Dara recognizes the demon in doctor's disguise the minute Dr. Benjamin Lyle appears at her clinic. She boots him out the door, but the most successful soul-stealer in the history of Hell is not about to give up so easily.

Belial may look heavenly, but his soul belongs to Satan. As the battle between these cosmically well-matched opponents escalates, conflict breeds passion and passion transforms into something infinitely more complicated. Caught between a victory-hungry Satan and an unforgiving God, Belial and Dara discover there may be only one way to ransom the soul of a fallen angel: sometimes you have to go through Hell to claim your Heaven.

The Charley Davidson Series

Even more than the romance, what I liked best about this story was the world building. The idea of Hell being set up like a corporation with a CFO and a marketing and tech department was endlessly fascinating to me. The idea of God sitting around a poker table with Satan, Zeus, Loki, and a fallen Angel was SO MUCH FUN! It reminded me of something I might see on Supernatural.

Heat Factor: Holy Blue Balls, Batman!
Character Chemistry: "I know I should resist you since you're an agent of Hell, but I just can't!"
Plot: God and Satan make a bet
Overall: Fun, interesting, AND with a believable enemies-to-lovers storyline. We have a winner!

The story of Dara's return to faith is ultimately what really makes this romance novel sing. I especially recommend this book for people who are perhaps interested in inspirational romance, but don't want to be preached at.
