Situated on an idyllic campus in a suburban Connecticut town, The Academy of the Daughters of Christ is a fashionable, well-established and prosperous Catholic girls' day school. Applications, college acceptances and the financial aid program are all on the upswing. Despite all appearances of success and serenity, an unconventional insurrection is stirring within its ivy-laden walls. Its targets are the imperious head of school and her self-absorbed assistant head. The prime movers of the uprising are one of the head's appointed administrators and two highly regarded, long-term faculty members.
