Three months ago, thirteen-year-old Henry disappeared from The Shallows during a violent storm, leaving behind his muddy mountain bike at the train station.

While Mason doesn't know who he is or what he's capable of, he knows the one thing binding him to this suffocating small town is his younger brother, Henry.

Why would Henry run away without telling her? One of Chloe's friends knows something and she's determined to find out the truth.

As Chloe wades into dangerous waters and Mason's past emerges, a chilling question ripples to the surface: how far would you go to keep a secret?

'A captivating mystery about small-town secrets and the lies that protect them.' Ellie Marney, author of the Every series and White Night

'Absolutely thrilling. A truly complex and brilliantly written puzzle.' Fleur Ferris, author of Black, Risk, Wreck and Found

'Clever, compelling and heartbreaking. I loved this book.' Rebecca James, author of Cooper Bartholomew is Dead, Beautiful Malice and Sweet Damage

Review quote

'A compelling and immersive Young Adult mystery. Whilst Deep Water is less of a psychological thriller than is predecessor, there is definitely enough page-turning suspense to keep you on your toes. Written from the perspectives of sleuth-like Chloe and anti-hero Mason, Deep Water had me suspecting everyone of ulterior motives. Epstein is a master of throwing readers off course with plenty of red herrings and misinterpreted clues. Beneath the surface, however, Deep Water is more complex and grounded than initially meets the eye. The deeper you go, the harder it is to come up for air!' Better Read than Dead
