Review Text

Deadly Decisions is Reichs's third murder mystery featuring Temperance Brennan, a forensic anthropologist who divides her professional life between North Carolina and Quebec. The action is principally set in Montreal, and Reichs's observations of its local geography and culture distinguish her narrative from similar tales located in the mean street of Chicago or New York. It is the fine detail in the author's writing that grips the reader; the nuances of relationships, the intricate workings of crime-fighting technology and the use of language. The novel is peppered with phrases which underscore the bilingual nature of the Quebec province, as well as the profanities of the criminal underclass. (Kirkus UK)show more
