Every small town has a secret to hide. For Cambridge, Maryland that secret is in danger of being exposed. Fifteen years have passed since the local police department covered up a series of unsolved murders where the victims, all Jane Does, had their ring fingers removed. Today, a new group of killings is eerily reminiscent of those cold-case tragedies. Only this time the public can't be shielded and the victims aren't as anonymous. Detective Troy Harbeson is a man who knows about secrets. Borrowed from the nearby town of Salisbury, he is asked to run a parallel investigation. The Cambridge Police chief is hoping Troy will have enough of an outsider's perspective to shut down the current killing spree. What Troy soon learns is that he must delve deep into the town's hidden past if he is to have any chance of ending the bloodshed and bringing the killer to justice.
