David Hudson DePatie (born May 26, 1935) was the last executive in charge of the original, classic Warner Bros. Family Entertainment cartoon studio and was charged with closing it in 1963. Afterward, DePatie and longtime Warners animator Friz Freleng formed DePatie-Freleng Enterprises (with many former Warners animators joining them); the new firm created the animated character known as Pink Panther for the opening titles of the 1963 live-action film The Pink Panther, starring Peter Sellers. DFE also produced several Saturday morning animated programs including Super 6, Super President, Here Comes The Grump, and The Pink Panther Show.
