Darold Duane Knowles (born December 9, 1941 in Brunswick, Missouri) was a Major League Baseball pitcher from 1965 to 1980 for the Baltimore Orioles, Philadelphia Phillies, Washington Senators, Oakland Athletics, Chicago Cubs, Texas Rangers, Montreal Expos, and St. Louis Cardinals. Knowles was known as a workhorse relief pitcher, particularly in his years with Oakland, and his pickoff rate of one runner every 24 innings is the highest in major league history.
