The Search For A Traitor As the demon world celebrates the defeat of the Dark Lord, the vampire Santiago's mood remains bleak. He still yearns for sensual, raven-haired Nefri, who has inexplicably disappeared. But brooding for Nefri is a luxury Santiago does not have. His traitorous sire, Gaius, is unleashing a violent scourge upon the mortal world, and Santiago must stop him before it's too late. . . Leads To A Dangerous Seduction To her dismay, the all powerful Oracles have sent Nefri on her own mission to find Gaius, and failure is not an option. Nefri's search leads her to the vampire's abandoned lair--and straight into Santiago's path. It's clear Santiago intends to seduce her, but then an ancient, banished evil reappears, threatening to thrust the world into a madness it cannot survive. . . Praise for Alexandra Ivy "Ivy always packs her books with buckets of action, emotion and sexy sizzle. Another winner!" --Romantic Times on Devoured by Darkness "The romantic dynamic is smoldering and the seduction focuses on compelling trust, increasing the appeal." --Publishers Weekly on My Lord Vampire

This latest instalment of the Guardians of Eternity series is a fantastic read. Ivy does an excellent job of weaving multiple story lines while bringing her unique humour to the story and making you want to become part of the guardians world. Vampire Santiago is devastated when Clan Chief Nefri returns to her clan behind he Veil without notice. But now he has been given the charge of finding his sire who is responsible for trying to bring untold horror on an unsuspecting mortal world. Clan Chief Nefri went back to her people because what she felt for Santiago was too much, but now she has been given the responsibility of bringing Santiago's sire back, by the all powerful Oracles, she will cross paths with Santiago and the sparks will fly. When they team up to find Giaus, they soon find themselves fighting a passion that won't be ignored, while rushing to find the source of the evil that is causing havoc in the mortal world. Can they find and contain Giaus or will they be too late ? Watch out for the great secondary characters who might be the next couple to get a book, fun appearances by both Styx and Levet, who as usual annoys all the males, but never the females. The paperback comes with a bonus novella all about our favourite gargoyle Levet, which is a really fun read too. Overall another great addition to the series and I look forward to the next instalmentshow more

We finally get to see Santiago get his Nefri. Its a long road with our Levet tagging along the way with so comic relief. It always amazes me the imagination it must take Ms. Ivy to come up with Levets off the wall sayings and messed up dialogue , let alone the great story. It always gives me a chuckle. Santiago and Nefri have to find and destroy the new threat to demons and humans alike. Santiago's and Nefri's fiesty love story along the way is similar to today in some ways. A strong woman wanting to hang onto that while still loving a man. Santiago shows he is man enough to do that. This new threat is something they never expected and in their way is Gaius, his sire. The book is interesting in the way it shifts from place to place allowing us to see what all the characters are doing in their behind the scenes parts to help. That also gives an chance to see some of our old favorites. We also get to learn more of the veil This book is fast moving. Full of information we never had before. Sexy, funny, and a must read for all. I hope Alexandra Ivy continues this series for a good long while.show more

Every. Time. I tell myself after every Guardian of Eternity books, that there is no way Alex could make me love another Alpha male of her's. Every friggin' time, she proves me wrong. by this point I think in my head I'm having a poly realtionhip with the male characters in the serie. I mean how could I not fall in love with the sexy, smart, cunning, ruthless, predatory and sweet male characters that she creates? and Santiago is no different. I fell for his hot temper, his wry humor and his gorgeousness. I love how right from the moment he re-encounters Nefri in the wetlands of Louisiana, he is determined to have her, preferably naked ;) I practically drooled every time he got all bossy and dominant towards Nefri. Yikes those two had it bad for each other, then add in the mix sass-mouthing, sweet, yet gets on your nerve Levet, and you have a comic situation, you couldn't have imagined. sigh. Levet is such a sweet, adorable and charming gargoyle that yet for some reason instantly piss off every male acquaintance nearby. I love Levet, I love the fact when he speaks french I can understand him, I love his humor and personality. As they team up to hunt down the traitor Gaius, the chemistry between Nefri and Santiago is off the charts! it is not a question about if they got together, but when. Then there is the mystery of who is this new enemy? and how is it Gaius is infecting human with violence by biting them? I gott admit, this book must be at least in the top 3 mysterious storyline in the Guardians of Eternity serie. Another well done job by Alex, this book had everything I needed in a book, a smexy alpha male, a strong, intelligent heroine, a charming and sweet gargoyle, an unseen but deadly enemy, and an amazing twist and turns, action filled book! Highly recommended *Received an early ARC for my honest review*show more

He is the tall exquisitely handsome Vampire with long raven hair, dark eyes and distinctly Spanish features. He is also the Vampire who has faced torture of the darkest kind and who has fought in the pits of hell and yet he still lives!! She is the graceful Amazonian beauty her face perfectly oval with features that were carved by the angel and eyes deep and dark enough for a man to drown in. She is also the Ancient Vampire the supernatural have heard stories about. She is not one you should ever mistake her beauty for weakness or innocence. She left him after their last mission together and disappeared behind the veil and now she's back he won't allow it to happen again. He is deadly! She is deadlier! He is SANTIAGO! She is NEFRI! and SHE is HIS!! This should have been a time for celebration for all demons they had joined forces and eliminated the Dark Lord but when Styxx receives a visit from a witch declaring she had seen Gaius a traitor who had helped the dark lord try to destroy them Styxx knows what he had to do. Gaius was a powerful vampire and if he was back something bad was still afoot and the only person who could find him and discover the truth was the Vampire he had sired and then left to die all those centuries ago 'Santiago'! The Oracles had summonsed Nefri to find the Vampire they believed had come back through the portal after the war but this time he had brought with him an ancient evil more dangerous than all of them, an ancient evil that should have been destroyed many centuries ago. When Styxx shows Santiago the weapon given to him by the witch he is shocked but also weary of who it came from but he still agrees to go to Louisiana and see if he can sense Gaius there. Santiago realises when he arrives at the lair in Louisiana that Gaius has been there but had left a few days before however there was another scent one that set his body on fire and frustrated his senses 'Nefri' was here and she wasn't alone! No she was with a 3 foot gargoyle named Levet a gargoyle the men had no time for but annoyingly was loved by their mates. Santiago is determined to find Gaius but he is also determined this time to keep Nefri by his side. All he needs to do is convince her they need to work together and end whatever is happening for good and if they survive he intends to make sure she never leaves his side again. Darkness Avenged it definitely a must read and if you haven't read this series you are truly missing out on something amazingshow more
