As part of an Anzac Day project at school, Matthew has to find out if any of his family members fought during World War II. Author information

Marlene Bennetts is a Christchurch-based writer of poetry and fiction for adults and children. She has based this story on her own Uncle Lennie, who was one of the Dambusters. She is a successfully published author of many genres for children and in 2003 she was appointed a Member of the NZ Order of Merit in recognition of her services to literature. This is her second publication with Reed, the first being No Ordinary Flowergirl, also illustrated by Trish Bowles. Trish Bowles is a successful children's book illustrator, also based in Christchurch. She regularly makes school visits to show children her work, gleaning from them a sense of the world they live in and gathering new ideas for her work. This is her second book with more
