Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Dagmar Rom (born June 16, 1928) is a former Alpine ski racer from Austria. She won two gold medals at the 1950 World Championships in Aspen, Colorado, winning both the slalom and giant slalom events. At the 1952 Olympics in Oslo, Rom was silver medalist in the giant slalom. Alpine skiing (or downhill skiing) is the sport of sliding down snow-covered hills on skis with fixed-heel bindings. Alpine skiing can be contrasted with skiing using free-heel bindings: Ski mountaineering and nordic skiing - such as cross-country; ski jumping; and Telemark.
