About Umberto Tatafiore

Umberto Tatafiore was born in Naples, Italy in 1964. He studied music and oil painting. In the 80s he went to New York city to study Jazz music. He also spent 6 months in Sydney Australia and he eventually moved to the USA where he worked in a language school as Italian teacher and administrator. The book "Stories of the Mediterranean" comes from the author's need to keep expressing his artistic side. His creativity and inspiration found its way out during the commute from his house in Maryland to his work in Washington DC where the author would write stories on his laptop. The metro trains crowded with the multiracial faces of the American community together with Italian memories surrounded the writing of this first book. The book "Homeless" was started in the USA but was completed in Italy, on the island of Procida where the author spent a sabbatical year in 2008-2009. This is a short, semi-autobiographical romance.
