Description

In Coraline's family's new flat there's a locked door. On the other side is a brick wall-until Coraline unlocks the door . . . and finds a passage to another flat in another house just like her own.

Only different.

The food is better there. Books have pictures that writhe and crawl and shimmer. And there's another mother and father there who want Coraline to be their little girl. They want to change her and keep her with them. . . . Forever.

Coraline is an extraordinary fairy tale/nightmare from the uniquely skewed imagination of #1 New York Times bestselling author Neil Gaiman.

Our customer reviews

I originally reviewed it here: http://aniashuk.booklikes.com/post/107418/creepy-but-awesome- "We... We could be friends, you know," said Coraline. "We could be rare specimens of an exotic breed of African dancing elephants," said the cat. "But we're not. At least," it added cattily, after darting a brief look at Coraline, "I'm not." (I love this Cat!) What can I say about Coraline? (wow..I'm calling her Caroline in my head..weird. Sorry, Coraline:)) It seems like everyone read it or know what this book is about, or at least watched a 2009 American stop-motion 3D horror/fantasy film (thanks, Wiki) based on it. I'll just say: haven't read it yet? READ IT! It's creepy, but spellbinding at the same time, funny, but thoughts provoking and serious. Gaiman's humour is SO witty, I laughed a lot (despite whole horror theme). And his writing..OMG! May I say this book is theatrical? (in a good way, like it was written to become a movie one day). And what I liked the most - Discriptions are brilliant! I can easily imagine everything from snowball to the well in the grass. Sometimes like a short glimpse of picture, but most of the time (^o^) AMAZINESS! O.K., I'll stop here. Just read this BOOK if you haven't yet and... Happy readings!!!show more
