Crowley, chairman board of public works, will receive bids until September 15th for constructing 33,337 square yards asphaltic macadam and 4,092 square yards asphaltic concrete. Davenport, Iowa--The city will soon call for bids on about 33,000 square yards of asphaltic concrete paving in McClellan Heights, at an estimated cost of about $25,000. Louisville, Ky.-It is probable that about $175,000 will be spent on street improvements this fall. Baton Rouge, La.--The City Commissioner has declared in favor of paving about 17 miles of city streets. Shreveport, La.--lt has been decided by the city to pave about 6,490 square yards on Commerce street at estimated cost of about $13,000. Pittsfield, Mass.--It is contemplated to spend $25,000 for paving West street with vitrified brick. J. P. Moore is mayor. Springfield, Mass.--Bids will be received until September 21 by the commanding officer, Springfield Armory, for repairing, paving and resurfacing about 5,880 square yards of city street. Kalamazoo, Mich.--Plans are being prepared for the paving of streets, to cost $71,000. Andrew Lenderink is city engineer. Duluth, Minn.--It has been estimated by city engineer that paving of Central avenue and Sixth street will cost about $66,000. Winona, Minn.--Plans have been approved by state highway commission, St. Paul, Minn., to construct 86 miles state highways in /Vinona county. Will cost about $435,000.
