Not illustrated. 1915 edition. Excerpt: ...Gazette of that date, was made, framed, and presented by the chapter to the Indian Landing Boat Club, which at present owns and occupies this property. Flag day was observed on June 15. The Revolutionary graves in the vicinity were decorated. A large framed flag code was presented to the public school at Severn Cross Roads, and addresses made to the children by Mrs. Robert G. Hogan, State regent, and others. This occasion was followed by a chapter meeting, where the "Flag" was the theme. The John Eager Howard Chapter, of Baltimore, cared for an aged descendant of William Bachelor, who carried Old Glory in the battle of Cowpens under Gen. John Eager Howard, from the first part of January until the time of her death in October. A reproduction of this same flag was made by this chapter, and it also contributed to the beautiful State flag presented to the national society. Peggy Stewart Tea Party Chapter, of Annapolis, reports: Indirectly this chapter has been the cause of Old Glory and the other flags of the Revolution and War of 1812 being repaired and saved from destruction. The chapter presented a bill in the legislature of 1914 for this object, but the "Star-Spangled Banner commission," after informing itself on this subject, incorporated the preservation of the flags in its bill, thus helping to popularize it and insure its passage.
