Excerpt: ...Upon motion, the matter of the extension of or changes in the system of electric lighting at the Pacific Branch was referred to the president of the Board and the local manager, with power. Upon motion, it was resolved that when the Board adjourn it be to meet at the Central Branch at Dayton, Ohio, upon such day of September, 1900, as may be named by the president of the Board. The matter of the application of S. A. Butler, agent for Well, Fargo & Co'.s Express Company at the Pacific Branch, for repayment of amount paid by him in the case of a deceased member of that Branch, and presented at the last meeting of the Board, was referred to the president of the Board, with power. The committee appointed at the last meeting of the Board to investigate the matter of the duties of the quartermasters and commissaries at the various Branches, reported that it was not yet able to submit its recommendations, and upon motion it was directed to report at the next meeting of the Board. Upon motion of General Anderson, the resolution of the Board upon page 845, printed minutes, appropriating from the ward fund $20,000 for an amusement hall at the Danville Branch, was altered to read "chapel" instead of "'amusement hall." Upon motion of General Sewell, the president of the Board was directed to notify the governor and superintendent of construction at the Danville Branch to report at the president's office at once for consultation regarding the prompt completion of the buildings now under construction at that Branch.
