The quality of the work produced by this process, we may say, is of the very best, in consequence of the immense pressure brought to bear upon the material, and the process is particularly valuable for making articles out of Bessemer steel, since a steady pressure is much better adapted to this material than hammering. The mauy experiments which have been made have been so successful that we are justified in making the assertion that very soon no other process of forging will be employed. The most profitable application of this process is, without doubt, found iu the manufacture of the more complicated forms.
