Clans and Families of Ireland

It tells of the effects of invasion, war, famine and emigration, and how these have influenced the makeup of Ireland and the Irish. Focusing on 200 of the commonest Irish names, it sheds light on their origins, highlights their geographical distribution and gives details of prominent family members.Illustrated with coats of arms and clan tartans as well as photographs of Ireland s landscapes, historic sites and artifacts, this book will be of particular interest to all who rejoice in an Irish name."
