About Dr Mercy Ngozi Offor

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Dr. Mercy Offor has a doctor of philosophy degree in Organic Chemistry. She began her graduate studies at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria as a university scholar. She carried out research towards her doctorate degree at Clemson University, South Carolina and the University of Alabama In Huntsville, USA. She did her Post-Doctoral research at the University of Warwick, Coventry, England as the recipient of the prestigious Commonwealth fellowship award in 1983. She began her career as an educator at the University of Benin, in Nigeria where she was a senior lecturer. She obtained her Post Graduate Diploma in Education from National - Louis University Chicago, USA (2002 - 2004).She now teaches at the high school level in Chicago. In the summer of 2006 she carried out summer research in the Research Experience for Teachers at the University of Illinois, Chicago, working on nanotechnology. In summer of 2007 and 2008, she worked at the Northwestern University on climate change issues. She co-authored a science text for high school science students titled Dye - Sensitized Solar Cell Module.
