Description

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Ciliocera is a genus of snout moths. It was described by Amsel in 1954, and is known from Iraq. It contains the species C. leucosarca. It is found in Iraq. Moths in this species fly at a height range of 4000-7000 ft.The Pyralidae or snout moths are a family of Lepidoptera in the ditrysian superfamily Pyraloidea. In many (particularly older) classifications, the grass moths (Crambidae) are included in the Pyralidae as a subfamily, making the combined group one of the largest families in the Lepidoptera. The latest review by Munroe & Solis, in Kristensen (1999) retains the Crambidae as a full family of pyraloidea.show more
