Charles "Chuck" Negron (born 8 June 1942) is an American singer-songwriter, best known as one of the three lead vocalists in the band Three Dog Night, which he helped to form in 1968. Negron was born in Manhattan to a Puerto Rican father and a British mother. He grew up in The Bronx, New York City, where he sang in local doo-wop groups and played basketball both in schoolyard pick-up games and at Taft High School; the latter talent led to his being recruited to play college basketball in California at a small junior college named Hancock College, later he played at California State University, Los Angeles.
