In the Chill of the Night
When Private Investigator Kirk Joslin is approached by a shady high roller, wanting to hire the detective's services, he takes the job; albeit reluctantly. What he doesn't know is he is being set up as a patsy in a planned murder. Realizing too late that the job he'd been hired to do was merely a front for the frame up, he becomes a man on the run. His only hope for clearing himself is to make the high rolling gambler tell the police the truth. There is one other possibility, however, the high rollers beautiful mistress. If he can get her to tell the police what she knows, he would be able to clear his name. The problem is, she has disappeared. A taut mystery that keeps the reader guessing.
