The sister book to the 2011 Hugo Award-winning Chicks Dig Time Lords In Chicks Unravel Time, editors Deborah Stanish (Whedonistas) and L.M. Myles bring together a host of award-winning female writers, media professionals, scientists and more to examine each season of new and classic Doctor Who from their unique perspectives. Diana Gabaldon discusses how Jamie McCrimmon inspired her best-selling Outlander series, and Barbara Hambly (the Benjamin January Mysteries, Star Wars: Children of the Jedi) examines the delicate balance of rebooting a series. Seanan McGuire (the Toby Daye series, Discount Armageddon) reveals the power and pain of waiting in Series Five, and Una McCormack (The King's Dragon) defends her claim that Sylvester McCoy's final year of Doctor Who is the show's best season ever. Other contributors include Juliet E. McKenna (Einarrin series), Tansy Rayner Roberts (Power and Majesty), Sarah Lotz (The Mall, Exhibit A), Martha Wells (The Cloud Roads), Joan Frances Turner (Dust), Rachel Swirsky (Fields of Gold), Aliette de Bodard (Obsidian and Blood series) and Amal El-Mohtar (The Honey Month).

About Lynne Thomas

L.M. Myles contributed to the Hugo Award-winning Chicks Dig Time Lords. Lynne M. Thomas is the Editor-in-Chief of Hugo-nominated semiprozine Apex Magazine. She co-edited the Hugo Award-winning Chicks Dig Time Lords, as well as Whedonistas and Chicks Dig Comics. She is also the moderator for the Hugo-nominated SF Squeecast, a monthly SF/F podcast, and chaired the 2011 James Tiptree, Jr. Award Jury. Una McCormack has written two Doctor Who novels featuring the eleventh Doctor for BBC Books: The King's Dragon and The Way Through the Woods. Her Doctor Who short fiction has appeared in the Big Finish anthology The Quality of Leadership, and Doctor Who Magazine. She also writes Star Trek novels. Barbara Hambly has been a fixture in the science fiction and mystery scenes for many years. Her newest vampire novel Blood Maidens (Severn House) has recently appeared in the UK, and her historical whodunnit, Ran Away, continues the well-reviewed Benjamin January series. She also writes historical mysteries as Barbara Hamilton (The Ninth Daughter, and its sequels). Seanan McGuire watches too much television, which does not explain how she also writes three books a year (as two different people, no less - she's also Mira Grant), dozens of short stories, and endless blog posts. It has been posited that she may be a Time Lady herself, or possibly an alien pod plant. Both seem equally likely. Seanan has been nominated for a variety of genre awards, and won the 2011 Campbell Award for Best New Writer.
