She was born in Cavalese, Trentino, and resides in Pozza di Fassa. She won her first World Cup race, a slalom, in December 2007 at Lienz, Austria. She competed at the 2006 and 2010 in the slalom event. Alpine skiing (or downhill skiing) is the sport of sliding down snow-covered hills on skis with fixed-heel bindings. Alpine skiing can be contrasted with skiing using free-heel bindings: Ski mountaineering and nordic skiing - such as cross-country; ski jumping; and Telemark.
