Playing Chess blindfold has always been a feat to arouse admiration and wonderment, and a good deal has been written to try and explain the processes employed--notably the ai tides appearing in La Strategic of 18S)'2-3 in connection with Professor A. Binet's experiments on the subject at La Sorbonne University in Paris. I know, however, of no discussion of sans voir problem solving and composing, nor any comparison between it and actual play.
