Charles Baker Adams (January 11, 1814 - January 18, 1853) was an American educator and naturalist. He was born in Dorchester, Massachusetts in 1814, the son of Charles J. Adams. He graduated from Amherst College in 1834 with high honors (having transferred from Yale University to Amherst in 1832), and became an assistant to Edward Hitchcock in the Geological Survey of New York in 1836. In 1837, he became a tutor and a lecturer in geology at Amherst College.
