Charivari, a noisy parade of souls is the story of family, healing, magic, and old souls reuniting to save each other. When the four hundred pound Francisco Pimiento has a stroke while sucking down sullied oysters, he is visited by the flighty ghost of his dead wife, who promises to make his journey into the next life easier if he does one thing before he dies: reunite their twins. Through her he learns for the first time that he also has a son, raised by her family of circus performers. Using her ghostly charms she convinces him to insist that his daughter, Tlaloc's twin sister, Carlota finds him. Carlota lived in isolation, but with wealth, and safety. Tlaloc grew up in a jolly, usually tight-knit circus family. With his mother dead, and then his grandparents, he had to get along by his wits. What follows is an adventure of magical experiences that push not only Francisco's journey along, but also of his only two children, the border-saint-circus-performer dwarf Tlaloc and his daughter Carlota. Although both grew up in Mexico, they could not have followed more divergent paths. Will they be able to blend their paths and find common grown to see their father before he dies?
