Description

Lorraine Marwood was born and raised in the country, and lived for most of her married life on a dairy farm. She is an acclaimed poet who often writes about country life: her verse novel Star Jumps, about a farm family suffering through a drought, won the 2010 Prime Minister's Award for Children's Fiction. Another verse novel, Ratwhiskers and Me, was published in 2008. Lorraine's books of poetry include Redback Mansion and That Downhill Yelling, and her work is widely anthologised. She often holds poetry workshops in schools and loves motivating students to write in new ways. She is a judge for the Dorothea Mackellar Poetry Awards. Jocelyn Bell has a Diploma of Art/Illustration from RMIT and has illustrated numerous books for Oxford University Press, Longman-Cheshire and Macmillan. She has illustrated the popular Aussie Nibble Scruffy's Day Out (Rachel Flynn), which was a CBCA Notable Book in 2002, and Lorraine Marwood's earlier Nibble The Girl Who Turned into Treacle.
