Dr. Engleman writes me that specimens that he has seen from New Jersey are Rafinesquii. Dr. Gray writes that he does not doubt that vulgaris may be found in New Jersey. Dr. Torrey puts it down both in New Jersey and New York. Dr. Lockwood furnished me with specimens from the vicinity of Matawan, which I have growing, and which I am sure are Rafinesquii. ORDER 45.
