Excerpt from Catalogue of the Louisiana State Library, 1869 Any member of the General Assembly during the session thereof and any State officer is permitted to take from the Library any act or document of the State, duplicates whereof are contained in the Library, but in no case can such book be removed from the State buildings. Any member of the Assembly so taking a book from the Library must return the same on or before the last day of the then session of the General Assembly; and no State officer can retain a book longer than one week from the date of its removal.
