Description

Excerpt from The Carolina Journal of Pharmacy, 1952, Vol. 33: Published Monthly by the North Carolina Pharmaceutical Association at Chapel Hill, N. C Discussing other legal actions under court scrutiny, the Bureau cites the anti-trust suit brought against R. H. Macy co., Inc., by Sunbeam Corporation, makers of electrical appliances, to uphold fair trade prices on its products. The department store is charged with monopoly, under the Sherman Act, in the footballing of Sun beam products during the 1951 price wars. In this manner, the complaint alleges, Macy's monopolized per cent of the business in Sunbeam products as compared with the store's per cent share of sales in the New York area before the price war.
