During the 17th Century England, under the oppressive reign of King James II, young Irish doctor Peter Blood is arrested and convicted of treason for treating the wounds of an anti-crown rebel. He is condemned to slavery in Jamaica and exiled to Barbados as a slave. There, he is sold to the pretty and beautiful Arabella Bishop, niece of the wicked owner of the plantation, and also befriends a man convicted for debt. The young Irish doctor will end up capturing a Spanish galleon and becoming the most feared pirate of the Caribbean.
