Description
They said it couldn't be done, but geeky sophomore Lauren Carlson transformed herself into a popular girl after moving to a new school half-way across the country. Amazing what losing your braces and going out for cheerleading will do. Only trouble is, the popular crowd is wearing on Lauren's nerves and she can't wait to return to summer camp where she's valued for her brain instead of her handsprings. She misses her old friends and most of all, her long time camp-only boyfriend, Seth. This year she intends to upgrade their relationship to year-round status once she's broken up with her new, jock boyfriend, Matt. He doesn't begin to know the real her, a girl fascinated by the night sky who dreams of discovering new planets and galaxies.

Our customer reviews
3.5 stars
Did I enjoy this book: I did. It was cute, sweet, quick, and gave a decent lesson.
I never went to camp when I was younger. It sounds like a good time. I think it would be interesting to go away for a few months and hang out with friends from all over that you grew up with at camp but donâ??t go to school with. It was neat to watch Lauren realize that her camp friends, and enemies, were a lot like her and her friends at school. Lauren and some of the other girls really grew up during this summer. She also learned quite a bit about herself, her boyfriend, her camp boyfriend, and the girls in the enemy cabin. Itâ??s the cliche â?? donâ??t judge a book by its cover.(Not the book itself, the characters. You know, everyone has a story and they may not be as they seem on the outside.) Cliche or not, it rings true and sinks in.
Camp Boyfriend is a fun read, perfect for a summer day.
Would I recommend it: Sure! I want to read Camp Payback and catch up with the camp kids.
