Miss Phoebe Sheavyn, who took her M.A. this year from Aberystwyth, being first in English and French branch, has received a scholarship and a position on the staff of Bryn Mawr College, Philadelphia. The funds granted by the State in 1869 for all forms of public education in Wales amounted to less than 42,000; now the grants to Wales reach nearly 430,000.
