The report shows net earnings, after all charges and Federal taxes, of $1,074,702, equivalent to $19.86 a share, against net earnings of $917,971, or $15.94 a share in 1917. Preferred dividends were unchanged at $280,000 and common dividends were slightly lower, being $400,000, against $560,000. The surplus for 1918 aggregated $394,792, an increase of more than $300,000.
