Lucas notified in May the Missouri P. S. Commission that the company has accepted the order reducing rates, effective Apr 17. The new maximum is 8 cents per kilowatt houf for the first 3 k. w. hrs., and 5 cents thereafter. KANSAS CITY NORTHWESTERN RR. By order of Judge Wm. C. Hook in the U. S. District Court at Kansas City, Mo., this 761-mile branch line of the Missouri Pacific Ry., extending from Kansas City to Virginia, Neb., was placed in the hands of Louis S. Cass of Kansas City as receiver. The interest on the $1,024,000 bonds was in default. Mr. Cass ia President of the Waterloo, Cedar Falls & Northern Ry., with headquarters at Kansas City.
