Burdale was a railway station on the Malton & Driffield Railway, situated south of the 1746 yard Burdale Tunnel. It opened on 19 May 1853, and served the hamlet and large quarry at Burdale. It closed on 5 June 1950. In October 2008, The Yorkshire Wolds Railway Restoration Project has been formed by a group of enthusiasts with aim to restore at least part of the M&D railway line as a heritage attraction, marking it the only Heritage Railway in East Yorkshire.show more
