Bullying.org and Family Channel and launched Bullying Awareness Week in Canada on November 16, 2003[3]. The anti-bullying pledge was made available online at family.ca and bullying.org, asking students to stand up to bullying by being good friends to one another. The campaign launched with a press conference hosted by Family Channel and speakers including Bill Belsey, founder of Bullying.org; Dr. Debra Pepler from York University and Dr. Wendy Craig from Queen's University, bullying-prevention researchers; and children affected by bullying. Additional campaign resources included an online bullying tool kit which provided students with tips on how to deal with bullying in their communities and information on cyber bullying plus Public Service Announcements (PSAs) which aired on Family Channel. 55,000 Canadian children commit to taking the pledge.show more
