Description

Excerpt from Bryn Mawr College, Vol. 78: Catalogue and Calendar, 1985-1987 Students participate actively on many of the most important academic and administrative committees of the College. In addition to the Curriculum Commit tee, undergraduates elect three rising seniors to serve with members of the faculty on the College Admissions Committee. Along with alumnae and faculty, three students participate in the policy discussions of the Undergraduate Scholarship Committee. Two undergraduates meet with the Board of Trustees, present regular reports to the full board, and work with the board's committees. Two undergraduates are also elected to attend meetings of the faculty. At the meetings of both the board and the faculty, student members may join in discussion but do not vote. The International Students Association, representing more than 140 under graduate and graduate students at the College from more than 50 different coun tries, enriches the life of Bryn Mawr through social and cultural events. Black students' organizations, the Director of Minority Affairs, and the Minor ity Task Force have been active in arranging with the faculty and the Curriculum Committee new courses in the appropriate departments and in supporting the Black Cultural Center which sponsors cultural programs open to the College community and provides residence space for a few students.
