Edward "Untz" Brooke Brewer (1894-1970) was an American athlete. Brewer played two seasons of professional football with the Cleveland Indians and the Akron Pros in the National Football League (NFL). He was considered one of the best high school quarterbacks in the country and played college football at Maryland State College. Brewer was also an accomplished track and field athlete. Brewer was born on November 21, 1894 in Washington D.C. He attended the St. Albans School, where he played baseball and football and competed in track and field. Brewer beat Olympian Howard Drew in the 50-yard dash, and was considered one of the finest athletes in the nation. The New York Times also called him one of the best quarterbacks in the South.
