Broken Faith is the first book of the Spiritual Discord series by Brandy Nacole. It is a delightful, staggering and unique book. The ingredients that make this book an unforgettable read are: a cup of vampires, a teaspoon of fallen angels, 100 g of evil hell hounds, a pinch of humans and one pack of ghosts! Then proceed to mix all the ingredients adding a perfect touch of forbidden love and an incredible amount of talent and BANG! You have this piece of delicious art called Broken Faith.
Have you ever felt, when you were starting to read a book, that you were going to fall in love with it? Even though you have read just the first page? Well that is exactly what happened with Broken Faith. We fell in love immediately with it! We knew from the beginning that this was a 5 gorjuss doll!
We have our reasons to like it so much. One of the many reasons we felt like nothing else was around us while we were reading Broken Faith has a name: Kayson.
Kayson is a Fallen Angel *fangirling*, he is so sweet and peaceful. We loved the reason why he fell! It was so noble, just like him. And before you ask, he is super hot! Come on, he is an angel he has to be really handsome doesn't he? Anyway, leaving beauty aside, we love him because he is a gentleman and has a heart as big as heaven and hell together.
We could keep like this all day, giving you a long, long list of reasons to love Kayson, but one thing we love the most about him is his reason to be a Fallen Angel (I got you! You want to know what it is, right? You will have to read Broken Faith *wink*)
...Oh yeah, Sabrina! I almost forgot I have been writing a review *got lost in my thoughts thinking about Kayson*. We love her as much as we love Kayson, for different reasons of course. She has been through a lot. We can't imagine a life running and hiding. We liked her so much because of how evil she pretends to be. But, in the end, she's not actually being bad. She is such a good girl/vampire. We felt really sorry about how she became a vampire. We wanted to hug her and never let her go. We also wanted to slap her at some point, but we partly understand why she was acting the way she did. So we had some strong mixed feelings here.
As for the other characters, well... Emma, we didn't like nor hate her. She is a normal girl, with normal problems, and a huge attraction to Kayson (which is normal since we have made clear everyone loves angels that look like him). But we have to admit that it has been a time when we wanted nothing more than to punch her in the face! Why? No giving away anything here, we encourage you to read Broken Faith and punch her by yourself *laughing*
OMG! I almost forgot! The bad boys, aka Hell Hounds! No need to say we hate them right? They were so evil that it terrified us! They were perfectly described. Such a good description that you could perfectly made an image of them, chasing the good guys.
About the book, we liked that you could see different POVs. You not only feel like dying of love, but of fear, too, because you get to see Falon's POV, which is as scary! We would love to see this more frequently, I mean, see the story from the bad guy's POV and remain the evil/bad one.
We want to congratulate Brandy, not so many people can write 4 different points of view and don't make you get lost. That's the reason we love Brandy's fluent writing and we are so eager to read more of her future books.
Ok guys, I think I have said enough, and I have made clear that Broken Faith is not an ordinary book with a bunch of supernatural creatures, but an I-am-going-to-get-to-you-and-make-you-fall-in-love-with-me-that-you-are-not-going-to-be-capable-of-put-me-down kind of book.
We encourage you to read Broken Faith! But make sure you have a comfortable seat with food on hand, because you won't be able to stop reading this wonderful book. Once you start, you wouldn't be able to stop reading it.show more
