Description

Vanished civilizations, unidentified flying objects, giant people, strange sea creatures, alien visitations, enigmatic ancient artifacts. . . Government conspiracies, media fraudsters, mass hysteria, genuine believers. . . Welcome to the weird and wonderful world of Matt Bialer. A fascination with the strange, the unexplained and the downright weird manifests itself hypnotically in this selection of long poems that address our hopes, our misconceptions and our fears about things we just do not understand. These poems read like fast paced stories, never fail to draw the reader in and, above all, entertain. These poems are the epic celebration of Americana at its weirdest, an elegy to the beauty of its deeply twisted and beautiful soul. Amazing. Seb Doubinsky Matt Bialer is the author of five books of poetry including Radius (Les Editions du Zaporogue), Already Here, Ark, Black Powder and The Bloop (all from Black Coffee Press). His poems have appeared in many print and online journals including Le Zaporogue, Green Mountains Review, Gobbet, Forklift Ohio and H_NGM_N. He is also an acclaimed black and white street photographer and watercolorist who has exhibited widely. Some of his photographs are in the permanent collections of The Brooklyn Museum, The Museum of the City of New York and The New York Public Library and his watercolors are in many private collections. His photographic monograph, More Than You Know, was published by (Les Editions du Zaporogue) in 2011 and Shadowbrook, a book of his paintings was issued by the same publisher in 2012.show more
