Brian William Bocock (born March 9, 1985, in Harrisonburg, Virginia) is a Major League Baseball shortstop for the Philadelphia Phillies. He attended Turner Ashby High School in Bridgewater, Virginia where he was a standout in both baseball and basketball. Bocock attended Stetson University in DeLand, Florida for three years, pursuing a degree in sports management. Bocock, who hit just .220 for the Single-A San Fransisco Giants in 2007, made the Major League roster in 2008 as the team's opening day shortstop because of an injury to Omar Vizquel.
