Bratislava Main Station or Bratislava hlavn stanica is the main railway station of Bratislava, Slovakia. It is located at the northern edge of the Old Town, near ancov street, some 15 minutes walking from the city center. Trains from this station depart to Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Serbia, Croatia, Poland and the rest of Slovakia. The first station building, at ancov 1, now serves as the headquarters of the railway police. It was built in 1848 as the terminus for the Vienna - G nserndorf - Bratislava and B eclav - Bratislava lines. The second building, which is used to this day, was built after the completion of the Budapest - t rovo - Bratislava line around the 1850s. The third building, colloquially called "Sklen k," was built in 1988 as an extension to the existing second building.
