Description

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Bradypophila is a genus of snout moths. It was described by Ihering, in 1914, and contains the species B. garbei. It is found in Brazil. The forewings are unicolorous dark ochreous. The larvae are associated with tree sloths. The Pyralidae or snout moths are a family of Lepidoptera in the ditrysian superfamily Pyraloidea. In many (particularly older) classifications, the grass moths (Crambidae) are included in the Pyralidae as a subfamily, making the combined group one of the largest families in the Lepidoptera. The latest review by Munroe & Solis, in Kristensen (1999)[Full citation needed] retains the Crambidae as a full family of pyraloidea.show more
