About William McIntyre
After childhood in LA, Bill spent a decade in the Hollywood game, before he expatriated to the Rocky Mountains. His ten years of life and death in Tensile Town, included stage and film acting, screenplay and network TV writing; producing Public Television, and Firesign Theater radio syndication's, and a spoken word album with Black Elk Speaks author, John G. Neihardt. His screenplay for Kilimanjaro Machine, Ray Bradbury's short story tribute to Ernest Hemingway, attracted Orson Welles as director. In the Rockies, Bill produced video for environmental and tribal activists. He shot, and edited, the award winning documentary With Visible Breath I Am Walking, hosted on-camera by Powwow Highway author, David Seals, which was given a special showing at Sundance. In 2011 Bill directed and shot That's the Ticket Road Hog, a documentary on the music, art, and lore, of the American Hobo, which featured Pete Seeger. Through these years, McIntyre and pal Ray Bradbury kept each other current on their adventures and misadventures, with letters and calls and visits. Bill is featured in Duke of Madness Motors "The History of the Firesign Theater Broadcast Adventures, and is presently producing Firesign Theater Radio. He resides in the Pacific North West.
