A Boy Named Michael
Growing up on the road was no fun one had to work hard to stay ahead of starvation. Things improved when Michael met Jerry, an old WW2 pilot who taught him to fly. Older women loved him and took advantage of him. Younger ones weren't interested in boys at his age but June was an exception. She almost hyperventilated when she sat on his lap in the old Steerman. She learned to fly that spring and he bought her a Cherokee to practice in.
