Review quote

"Stories about going to the library on a rainy day are not new, but this one has a cunning twist....kids will enjoy the playfulness and, no doubt, try reading to their own dogs." - Kirkus Reviews

"17 Picture Books Not To be Missed. In this story Benny the puppy wants to play, but Sam is intent on reading her book. Can she find the perfect book for Benny to convince him to read with her?" - Book Nerd Mommy

"Judith Koppens' endearing story about a little girl who wants to share her love of reading with her pet will enchant animal lovers and may inspire some child/furry friend reading time at home. Benny's humorous displays of disapproval and approval will have kids giggling, and the book that Benny ultimately chooses will be appreciated with a laugh by dog owners. Marja Meijer's cartoon-style illustrations are just right for this lighthearted tribute to a love of reading....a great read aloud for home or classroom storytimes." - Celebrate Picture Books

"Children are going to thoroughly enjoy this sweet, and often funny picture book. They will be particularly delighted when they see the book that Benny picks out." - Through The Looking Glass reviews

"A charming story about reading, libraries, dogs, and finding just the right book. That 'rainy day' feeling and Sam's enthusiastic desire to find a book for her dog are portrayed beautifully in text and illustration. This book provoked giggles (as to what proved to be the perfect book for Benny, and his reaction to the book about knights) and is a really engaging book; I can imagine it going down very well in nursery/P1 visits to libraries!" - Allison M., librarian

"What a great message of sharing. It also teaches appropriate rain gear, and how children can select and check out library materials." - Lori's Book Loft

"A wonderful book about the love of books and reading. It shows that you can find the perfect book for anyone."- Julia Guttzeit, educator

"Beautiful book to own teaches children about the joys of reading and in this modern age of technology the use of a library and the fiffetent csyorgory if books they have on demand." - Helena Moloni, educator

"This adorably illustrated book is perfect for any family who love books, dogs, or both! I loved the way the little girl wanted to share her passion for reading with her dog. This book would be a great addition to an elementary classroom." - Melissa Miles, Elementary school educator

"Perfect for children who love reading or need a little encouragement to read." - Carol Bracho, blogger
