The Book of Onions is a collection of darkly funny comics from Jake Thompson, creator of the celebrated bi-weekly webcomic "Jake Likes Onions."

Ranging from the relatable to the utterly nonsensical and bizarre, The Book of Onions focuses on themes of loneliness, desperation, and failure. And misplaced optimism. And perverted talking fruit. Sort of like Gary Larson's "The Far Side," if Gary were way less accomplished and suffered from depression.

Review quote

"Jake's gags sting. And they have many layers. And they stay with you for quite a while. All very much like the eponymous vegetable." (Nicholas Gurewitch, The Perry Bible Fellowship) "Deranged, beautiful, hilarious, and poignant, Jake Likes Onions is one of my absolute favorite comics." (Matthew Inman, Eisner Award-winning creator of The Oatmeal and #1 New York Times bestselling author) "Witty, subtle, and surreal, these comics look like they were drawn by a time-traveling Victorian caricaturist with a strange mind and a keen eye for the oddities of modern life." (Reza Farazmand, creator of Poorly Drawn Lines)
