By the date of her writings she flourished in King William III.'s reign, but in what year she was born, to whom married, or when she died, are particulars which seem buried in obscurity and oblivion. She was contemporary with Mrs. Manley and Mrs. Trotter, afterwards Mrs. Cockburne; and is ridiculed in company with these ladies in a little dramatic piece, called The Female ll/its; but however near she may stand on a par with the latter in respect to her poetical talents, we can by no means think her equal to the former.
